PRUDHOE
and DISTRICT Local History Society
The
society was formed in 1985.
The
annual subscription is £6 and visitors are
always welcome at a charge of £1.50 per meeting.
Meetings
are held on the last Wednesday of the month from September
to November and January to April at 7.30pm in Prudhoe Parish
Hall on Front Street.
As well
as a varied programme of talks, summer outings are
arranged to places of historical interest in the locality.
Publications
include : 'The Drumming of the Poss Sticks' (1996);
'A Prudhoe Likeness' (1999); 'A Prudhoe Reflection'
(2001)..
The
society has a collection of copies of old photographs
of the area.
