MITFORD
Historical Society
The
society was founded in 1999 to record Mitford's history
up to the Millennium and to record current events. It was
assisted by a grant from the Awards For All programme.
Meetings
are held quarterly in March, June, September and December
in the Community Centre.
We have
published our parish history - 'Mitford 2000'
and
have a collection of local records, including a fine
collection of photographs, which were taken by the then
vicar of Mitford between the 1890s and 1934. Records of
contemporary Mitford are being added.
